CHARLOTTE’S SMILE GUIDE
I see dental problems every day, but I like turning those problems into opportunities. No matter what your issue, I will make it a point to understand the journey you’re on and give you a healthy plan to keep moving forward.
Sometimes it’s a simple filling. Sometimes it’s a full smile makeover. Either way, I want my patients to leave feeling like they found someone they can trust.
I don’t just provide excellent dental health care. I’m a professional, parent, and community leader just like you.
- I’m married to a great woman and inspired daily by my two boys.
- I coach little league.
- I eat at the Pizza Peel.
- I have a favorite brewery (Resident Culture). I’m open to debate this.
- I ride bikes in Freedom Park.
- I get that traffic is awful on Providence Rd. That’s why I opened my new office on Randolph Rd. It’s also why we open at 7 am.
If you want a dentist who can relate to you and the neighborhood then call me or schedule online. We proudly serve the Cotswold community (near Southpark & Myers Park) in Charlotte.
Creating great smiles is what I’m good at. Making people smile is what I enjoy!

We provide complete general and cosmetic services for you to get the beautiful smile you deserve.
Then your friends see that smile, get jealous, ask how that happened, and you refer them to us to do one of the following:
Preventative & Periodontal Services
Depending on the condition of your gums we will recommend a preventative treatment/cleaning (for healthy gums) or a type of periodontal therapy (for patients with gingivitis or gum disease) and will customize an ongoing hygiene schedule.
Digital Radiographs (X-Rays)
Digital radiography provides advantages over traditional film including significantly less radiation to the patient, the ability to enhance images for diagnosis, and better communication with colleagues and insurance companies.
Digital Impressions
Digital impressions avoid the use of uncomfortable and messy putty trays. This allows for extremely accurate impressions, higher quality outcomes, less chair time, and an improved overall experience.
Dental Implants
In most cases, Dental Implants offer a far superior solution for the replacement of missing teeth than Bridges and Partial/Complete Dentures. Dr. Williams has trained extensively in the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants.
Cosmetic Crowns and Veneers
When optimal aesthetics is desired, Cosmetic Crowns and/or Veneers may be an option. Utilizing models of your teeth, pictures, and wax-ups/mock-ups to plan your treatment, you will have a vision for your new smile before even starting.
Dental Crowns
In cases of fractures, cracks, previous dental restoration, or significant loss of tooth structure, a crown/cap is recommended to restore the tooth. We use the latest technology and highest quality materials and laboratories.
Dental Fillings
We use only the best materials available for routine dental fillings and do not use dental amalgam as we believe that modern adhesive dentistry provides more functional and more aesthetic options for dental restorations.
Dental Bridges
A dental bridge is a way to replace one or two missing teeth. A bridge is essentially two or more crowns with a false tooth bonded to them. Bridges leave a lot to be desired functionally and many times dental implants are a better treatment option.
Dentures/Partial Dentures
Removable dental prosthesis such as partial denture or complete denture is an option when multiple teeth are lost. Dentures can be a more functional tooth replacement when dental implants are added for retention of the prosthesis.
Root Canal Therapy
A root canal is a treatment that removes a damaged or dead nerve and replaces it with an inert material. In most cases we recommend a crown be placed soon after a root canal in order to maintain the strength of the tooth.
Occlusal Guards/Occlusal Splints/Nightguards
Nighttime grinding or clenching of your teeth often lead to a recommendation of a custom occlusal guard to avoid teeth wear, muscle tightness or pain associated with the jaw joints (the Temporomandibular Joint or “TMJ”.
Athletic Mouthguards
A custom athletic guard for individuals involved in impact sports is recommended. A custom athletic guard can be much more comfortable and more protective than an over-the-counter mouthguard.

Your First Visit
During your first visit you will be introduced to the office through our Comprehensive Oral Examination. This detailed examination is the foundation of our relationship and therefore we place a great deal of importance on this visit. After a complete review of your medical and dental health history and a review of any questions or concerns you may have we will begin a series of steps to gather a complete picture of your current oral health. This will include digital radiographs (x-rays), digital pictures, examination of your jaw joints (TMJ) and the associated muscles, examination of hard and soft tissues of the mouth, and an oral cancer screening. In cases where there are complex treatment needs we will often recommend having study models made to assist Dr. Williams in the planning and treatment of your case.
After this information is gathered and some preliminary assessment is made, all effort will be made to complete a dental cleaning at this appointment. Depending on the presence and severity of any periodontal disease (gum disease) a more thorough cleaning may be necessary and may need to be scheduled for another visit.
